You're Praying For Escape...But God Is Trying To Transform You

We talk so much about finally overcoming our current situation…whatever that might be. But what if the breakthrough isn't on the other side of escaping your circumstances?
What if it's hidden inside your willingness to stop running?
"The kingdom of heaven is at hand."
I've come to realize that I couldn't see it—not because God wasn't present—but because I was so busy trying to get somewhere else.
One day, I was washing dishes thinking about my own circumstances and all of a sudden God gave me the image of Cinderella. She wasn't obsessing over the castle every waking moment. She lovingly cared for what was in front of her. She served faithfully, even when no one saw her value.
And every bit of it prepared her for her elevation.
In the Bible, Joseph did the same. Whether he was in the pit, the prison, or the palace, Scripture keeps repeating one simple truth:
The Lord was with Joseph.
His location changed. God's presence didn't.
I've spent years asking, "How do I get out of this?" Now I'm learning to ask, "Lord, what are You transforming in me while I'm here?"
That's not a call to stay in abuse or ignore wisdom. Discernment matters.
But many of us are so committed to escaping discomfort that we never receive the wisdom the season was carrying.
God often reminds me that I can't see the bigger picture.
I don't know which delay is protecting me.
I don't know which disappointment is preparing me.
I don't know which ordinary act of faithfulness is quietly becoming the doorway to everything He promised.
Maybe the Kingdom isn't waiting somewhere "out there." Maybe it's already at hand.
We just have to stop running long enough to see it.
